CarsBy10 – Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by CarsBy10.
By booking a service through the CarsBy10 website, booking system, or direct communication, the customer agrees to these terms.
CarsBy10 operates as a mobile vehicle maintenance and repair service and provides services at customer locations where safe and practical to do so.
2. Services
CarsBy10 provides mobile vehicle maintenance and repair services including but not limited to:

Oil and filter servicing

Brake pad and disc replacement
-
Battery replacement
-
Wiper replacement
-
Vehicle diagnostics
-
Minor mechanical repairs
Services are carried out at the customer’s location where appropriate working conditions are available.
3. Booking Requirements
When booking a service, customers must provide accurate vehicle details including:

Vehicle make
-
Model
-
Year
-
Engine type
-
Vehicle registration number (VRM)
Incorrect or incomplete vehicle information may result in:

Changes to the quoted price
-
Delays in service
-
Inability to complete the repair
CarsBy10 reserves the right to cancel or reschedule bookings if incorrect information is provided.
4. Pricing & Estimates
Prices displayed on the CarsBy10 website or booking system are estimated service prices only.
These prices are not the final price and may be higher or lower depending on:

Vehicle specification
-
Parts required
-
Labour time required
-
Additional faults discovered during inspection
The final price will be confirmed once parts and labour costs have been calculated.
CarsBy10 will notify the customer before proceeding with any additional work that affects the price.
5. Booking Deposit
A £10 booking deposit is required to secure an appointment.
The deposit:

Secures the appointment time
-
Confirms the booking
-
Is deducted from the final service price
Example:
Final service cost: £95
Deposit paid: £10
Remaining balance due: £85
6. Minimum Service Charge
CarsBy10 operates a minimum service charge of £45.
This covers:

Travel to the customer location
-
Initial inspection or diagnosis
-
Up to approximately 30 minutes of labour
If additional labour or repairs are required, the customer will be informed before work continues.
7. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed.
CarsBy10 accepts payment via:

Card payments
-
Bank transfer
-
Secure online payments through Square
Failure to make payment may result in recovery action for outstanding balances.
8. Customer-Supplied Parts
Customers may choose to supply their own parts.
However:

CarsBy10 cannot guarantee compatibility or quality of customer-supplied parts.

If supplied parts are incorrect or incompatible, a £30 compatibility/inspection fee may apply.
-
Labour charges may still apply even if the repair cannot be completed due to incorrect parts.
CarsBy10 accepts no liability for failure of customer-supplied parts.
9. Cancellations & Missed Appointments
Customers may cancel or reschedule bookings up to 24 hours before the appointment time.
The £10 deposit may be retained if:

The appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice

The customer is not present at the appointment location
-
Access to the vehicle cannot be provided
10. Work Environment & Safety
Customers must ensure the vehicle is located in a safe and suitable working environment.
This includes:

Adequate space to work around the vehicle
-
Safe parking location
-
Adequate lighting
CarsBy10 reserves the right to refuse work if the environment is unsafe.
11. Additional Repairs & Unforeseen Issues
During vehicle repairs, additional faults or complications may be discovered that were not visible during the initial inspection.
These may include:

Seized or corroded bolts
-
Worn or damaged components
-
Previous incorrect repairs
-
Additional faults discovered during disassembly
If such issues arise, CarsBy10 will inform the customer before continuing with additional work whenever possible.
Additional labour or parts required may result in an increase in the final service price.
Older vehicles may require additional labour due to corrosion or seized components.
12. Liability
CarsBy10 will carry out services with reasonable care and professional skill.
CarsBy10 is not responsible for:

Pre-existing faults
-
Failures unrelated to the repair performed
-
Failures caused by customer-supplied parts
-
Hidden mechanical issues discovered after repair
13. Vehicle Operation
During service CarsBy10 may need to:

Start the engine
-
Operate vehicle systems
-
Move the vehicle slightly to complete repairs
Road testing may not always be performed depending on insurance coverage and working conditions.
14. Warranty
Parts supplied by CarsBy10 may carry manufacturer warranties.
Labour warranty applies only to the work performed.
Warranty does not apply if:

The vehicle is modified after repair
-
Incorrect parts were supplied by the customer

The vehicle continues to be driven with known faults
15. Privacy
CarsBy10 may collect limited personal data including:

Name

Contact information
-
Vehicle registration details
This information is used solely for booking management and service delivery.
CarsBy10 does not sell or distribute personal data to third parties except where required by law.
16. Website Use
All content on the CarsBy10 website including text, images, and branding remains the intellectual property of CarsBy10.
Users may not copy or distribute website content without permission.
17. Changes to Terms
CarsBy10 reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time.
